Tuesday, July 11, 2023
Check out how current and former NBL talent is faring at the NBA Summer League.
Australian Boomers World Cup hopeful Dyson Daniels starred for the New Orleans Pelicans in a win over Golden State on Monday, Australian time.
Daniels had 17 points, 15 rebound, 8 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks in a huge all-round performance, falling just short of a triple-double.

Looks a step above this week <br><br>There was talk of him potentially being shut down after this, which still might happen, but he indicated to me pregame that he’s keen play as much as he can before he heads into Boomers camp!</p>— Peter Hooley (@PeterHooley12) <a href="https://twitter.com/PeterHooley12/status/1678254641753247746?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">July 10, 2023</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
NBL23 Next Star Rayan Rupert and former Illawarra Hawk Duop Reath teamed up against number one overall draft pick Victor Wembanyama for Portland, emerging victorious with a five-point win over San Antonio.
Reath impressed in his one-on-one battle in the paint with Wembanyama, and finished the game with 13 points and nine rebounds, in just over 20 minutes of action.
He also contributed strongly on the defensive end of the floor, with a block to his name.
Rupert played 11 minutes off the bench for the Trail Blazers and, despite his natural position as a wing player, spent a number of possessions guarding fellow Frenchman and close friend Wembanyama.

He ended the game with six points, two steals and two rebounds.
A pair of NBL23 stars faced off when Toronto clashed with Cleveland, as DJ Hogg and Luke Travers battled it out for bragging rights.
Sydney’s Hogg added 11 points, four rebounds and two blocks for the Raptors, but the Cavaliers strolled to a 23-point win.
After stuffing the stat sheet in his first appearance at this year’s competition, Travers was quieter against the Raptors.
He had just three points and three rebounds for the game, although two of his boards came on the offensive end.
Perth's NBL23 import Brady Manek impressed, with 10 points, six rebounds, one assist and two blocks for Atlanta against Denver.
Illawarra’s Justin Robinson’s shooting struggles against the Celtics were indicative of the performance of the wider Charlotte unit, as the Hornets shot just 30 per cent from the field against the Lakers.
Robinson scored four points and pulled in three boards in the defeat.
Xavier Cooks’ minutes at the tournament have continued to be managed as he registered a DNP in Washington’s win over Boston.
DJ Vasiljevic also remained on the bench in the Wizards’ win.
