451-game NBA star Brandon Knight is set to make his debut for the Perth Wildcats on Saturday night.
The club confirmed the news on Friday, with the veteran guard to take the court against the New Zealand Breakers at RAC Arena.
Knight signed with Perth in September, completing the Wildcats’ roster for the Hungry Jack’s NBL27 Season.
The 34-year-old was the No.8 pick in the 2011 NBA Draft and played 451 games across nine seasons, averaging 14 points, 3.9 assists and 3.1 rebounds.
He has since played in Puerto Rico and Greece, where he spent time with AEK Athens.
Knight was named MVP of the Puerto Rican league in 2023 after leading the competition with 23.3 points per game.
He joins a side already in form, with the Wildcats 3-1 after avenging their Round 1 loss to South East Melbourne with a 92-88 win.
Elijah Pepper’s back-to-back 25-point games and the form of Anthony Dell’Orso have also taken pressure off the import, with former NBL MVP Derek Rucker saying Knight can now “feel out the League, see what’s going on, and find his way to impact games.”
Watch Perth take on New Zealand on ESPN on Saturday night from 9:30pm AEDT, live on ESPN, 9 and 9Now.
